With summer in high season, the Philippine Surfing Academy (PSA) and members of the Manila Surfing Association hosted their 4th Annual Club Manila East Surfing Cup at the BeachWaves Surf Park. Open to all grommets and beginners, the competition is meant to give everyone a chance to compete, boost confidence and to give a once in a lifetime stoke experience.
Determined to bring authentic surf experiences to all of the Philippines, the PSA was the first to utilize any form of wave pool technology in the entire country. Nestled thirty minutes away from the nearest surf break in Taytay Rizal, Philippines, Club Manila East Hotel & Resort is home to this impressive 19,000 square foot wave pool and an array of other water attractions.
With the ability to pump out eight different wave patterns of up to four feet high, BeachWaves can boast being the most powerful simulated wave pool in all the Philippines. And, judging by the excitement of BeachWaves and the success of the competition, I’d say we can all expect to see many more surfers coming out of Taytay Rizal, Philippines.
