Last week the SPC team traveled to Orlando, Florida for the 2013 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo. The packed expo floor hosted over 522,000 square feet of exhibit space, more than 1,100 exhibiting companies and an incredible number of flashing lights… far from underwhelming.
Not surprising this year was the number of surf park and wave pool tech companies that peppered the expo floor. Amidst the melee, we had a chance to catch up with them to learn more about their products and upcoming projects. Following is a quick glance at each of the wave tech companies in attendance:
Murphy’s Waves Ltd.
Our friends at Murphy’s are staying busy. In addition to working on two projects in China and one in Malaysia this year, the team has also released an inflatable sheet wave design, among other products.
American Wave Machines
Coming straight from a successful testing session at their Surf’s Up NH installation, the AWM team looks to ride a continued wave of success into some other big projects this year.
WaveLoch
Owner Tom Lochtefeld and his team are excited about new pool designs, and report a few undisclosed projects could be released soon.
Surf Lagoons, Inc./The Wave
The owners of The Wave in Munich (pictured below) are excited about the latest Surf Lagoons’ San Clemente, California project among others.
Stay tuned for more information regarding company details and project information.
