OK, so this is an amateur-ish edit of the 11-time world champ surfing alongside the young and talented Jackson Dorian and Erin Brooks, but considering it’s the first glimpse of Slater riding a surf pool other than his own Lemoore creation, it’s worth a watch. Have you ever wondered how Slater would approach the punt section at Waco? Or what lines he would draw on the face? While this is a very small sample size (there’s only about a half dozen waves of Slater), it’s still rad to watch the greatest of all time surfing with two up-and-coming superstars of the sport. Interestingly, Slater’s surfing isn’t overly impressive in the Waco pool, but that could be from a lack of time getting to know the BSR tub, and also because Dorian is the greatest pre-teen prodigy since…well, since Slater himself. And at BSR it’s hard for anyone — the 11-time champ included — to compete with that.
