Happy Valentine’s Day, folks! For all of you out there sitting at home alone with no sweet baby to eat chocolate and candy hearts with, sobbing in your PJs and dreaming about clean waves, it’s time to cheer up… especially those of you in Eastern Australia… we’ve got some great news.
Greg Webber of Webber Wave Pools has signed a memorandum of understanding with entrepreneur/surfer David Baird for what will be the company’s first ever surf park installation. A big cheers to Greg and the rest of the Webber team for the win, and also to all of us public folk who hope to reap the benefits soon.
While direct details are still forthcoming, it appears that the slated delivery date is September 2015, with the park site being somewhere in Southeast Queensland on a property owned by Mr. Baird. Talk is of a circular design featuring continuously breaking waves but we have yet to confirm the specifics of the design.
Checkout the Webber Wave Pools presentation below from the 2013 Surf Park Summit to get a recap of the company and an idea of some of the cool stuff they may have on tap at the future park. Also stay tuned as we anticipate a great interview with Greg and more information to come over the holiday weekend. Cheers!
