Based on years of experience with wave generators for research institutes, Bosch Rexroth is now making its move into the entertainment and water sports industry, with customized wave generating systems intended for surfing.
Simulating movement is one of Rexroth’s core competencies. Airplane movements for reliable pilot or cabin crew training, shaker tables for earthquake simulations, or wave generators for ship and coastline testing; the company has been designing and manufacturing systems for all of these purposes for many years.

“Research centers use wave tanks to test ship designs and coast line protection measures. These basins come in many shapes and sizes. Our core competence is to provide waves with specific characteristics at specific locations within such a basin.” Rik de Swart says, Sales Manager at Bosch Rexroth.
Wave generators are complete installations, combined hardware and controls to create waves. System settings define the wave characteristics. “But whether a ship is tested or someone is riding the wave on a surf board, makes no difference to us.” de Swart continues. “The only thing that we need, is someone telling us what kind of wave he or she wants!”
