Blair Conklin Whips Into Artificial Wedges At The Palm Springs Surf Club

Blair Conklin is the most creative Surf Pool surfer on earth. Last year, he went to Texas with Mason Ho to help dream up a new wedge in Waco. While there, he landed the biggest and cleanest alley-oop we’ve seen in the pool. And he did it on a finless skimboard.

Conklin is a ripping surfer. But, in the last few years, he’s carved out a niche by shredding on skimboards and sofftops. In fact, he’s so good at boosting airs on tiny Catch Surf softboards he got the wildcard into the Stab High air comp in Texas last summer alongside the likes of Chippa Wilson, Noa Deane, and co.

Recently, the crew at the Palm Springs Surf Club invited Conklin out to get whipped by a winch in the pool. As you’ll see in the clip above, Conklin’s skill, style and control in the pool is unmatched, and he puts on quite the show, both on his skimboard and softtop. Starting on the sand (err, cement?), Conklin flies towards the wall, airs over the first wave, whips into the wedge, gets slotted, and ends with a 360-shuv. It’s impressive stuff.
