Teaser version of Andy Ainscough’s interview at Surf Park Summit 2 on September 7, 2016. Andy is the Founder and Managing Director of Surf Snowdonia a world-first inland Wavegarden surf lagoon and the UK’s most compelling outdoor adventure holiday destination.

Andy Ainscough is formerly a Semi Professional Rugby League player who for years worked the summers as an outdoor instructor and sports coach then worked the winters in construction and machinery removal. Andy founded the Surf Snowdonia Project in late 2012 after the family group had bought the 55 acre industrial site when it closed in 2007. Within 12 months our new company achieved full planning consent and had a fully worked up engineering model ready to move the diggers onto site for the build. The opportunity to combine Surfing and Business became a reality and Surf Snowdonia opened in Summer 2015.

Picture this. A perfect lozenge-shaped fresh-water lagoon, roughly the size of six football pitches, set in the lush, green Conwy Valley in the lee of the Snowdonia mountains. Breathe it in. It’s clean, it’s fresh, it’s wild and it’s beautiful. Now add something entirely unexpected. A powerful head-high wave that rises at the centre of the lagoon, peels perfectly for more than 150 meters, and dissipates softly as it hits the shore.

Welcome to the Surf Snowdonia Adventure Parc: a revolutionary world-first inland surf lagoon and the UK’s most compelling outdoor adventure destination for you, your friends and the whole family to enjoy. Our awesome 300-meter surf lagoon is the main deal, but there’s loads of other stuff to try out when you visit – from adrenalin thrills & spills on our Crash and Splash lagoon to SUP safaris, kayaking and kiddies soft play. Take a look around!
